My son made a visa payment via internet but was told that it did not go through. He made another payment by phone.

Both payments ended up going through but the bank catches it and reverses the second payment.

Visa credits his account twice but in correcting the extra credit they debit his account. I cannot make them understand that in doing so they have doubled his debt but still taken away a credit and now it appears as if my son still owes the amount.

Even worse, customer service people have convinced him that he still owes the payment because they gave him a credit he should not have had. The second payment never went through so all they had to do was reverse the credit by a negative credit or negative debit to get the amount off the books.

What I am concerned about is how many other unsuspecting people has visa convinced that they are still in debt and how many of these people paid the amount even though they did not understand how they still owed it.

Monetary Loss: $93.
